Call for entries in Matsya utsav photography Exhibition 2024
ENTRIES: 10 October To 10 November, 2024
Guidelines for Participation
1. The photographs being submitted must be related to tourism in Alwar, Rajasthan. The Entries shall be submitted during the timeline only.
2. One person is allowed to submit maximum 5 entries. The entries must be the original work of the participant and does not infringe Indian Copyright Act or any other relevant law.
2. Only high resolution photograph in JPEG format will be accepted. Photographs less than 2 MB will not be considered.
3. The photographs selected by committee will be displayed at Exhibition. All rights of the submitted photographs will be reserved with the District administration, Alwar & Tourism department.
4. Photographs shall be submitted without watermark or name. Images created through Digital manipulation are not eligible for exhibition.
5. The entry of the photographs will be through only online mode. The participant shall submit photographs on amazingalwar16@gmail.com  for registration in the competition. The name, address, phone no of the participant shall be mentioned in the mail.
6. The decisions of the organising  committee shall be final for the competition.

Matsya Festival

Each year the celebration of Matsya Utsav nurtures the local art, culture, and heritage of Alwar. During Matsya Utsav one can rejoice the tunes of Bhapang folk performers, feel the thrill of different adventure sports, try your paddle boat skills, trek the rugged Aravali mountains around Bala Quila (fort), take a heritage walk in the old city. Date – 25th to 26th November each year.
Monsoon in Alwar

Alwar's buffer safari in Sariska Tiger Reserve offers a unique experience during the monsoon season. It becomes even more beautiful with dense forests and thriving wildlife . The rain enhances the rich greenery and brings life to the forests. The cool, fresh air and the sound of raindrops create a peaceful ambiance. Visitors can enjoy cooler weather, vibrant landscapes, and increased wildlife activity, making it an ideal time for nature lovers and photographers.
Shri Jagannath Ji Fair

Jagannath Fair (July) Jagannath Temple is situated in Alwar City. The fair of Jagannagth Ji famous for its annual Rath Yatra festival where Lord Jagannath is carried in a chariot called Indra Vimana. This is an important fair in the district where devotees from different walks of society throng the temple. Department of tourism organizes cultural event at Jagannath Ji mela each year.
Pandupole Fair

ACCESS THROUGH SARISKA TIGER RESERVE GATE

The road commencing from the Sanctury gate ends at this temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Here, is also the delightful Pandupol or Pandu gate where a cascading spring emerges from hand and compact rocks. A legend has it that the Pandava brothers took refuge here during their exile. Entry to the temple is allowed only on Tuesday – Saturday and full moon day after paying forest entry charges. Fair is organized at Hanuman temple at Pandupol in August – September. 
Shri Bharthrihari ji Fair

This is a throbbing pilgrimage centre which revolves around the legend of King Bhartrihari who spent the many years of his life in this ancient place amidst hills. The samadhi of Shri Bhartrihari ji was built by his disciples and devotees. They made this place a permanent memory of the great sage Bhartrihari ji. A small rivulet of clean water flows by and people worship the entombment of Bhartrihari ji. Here an incessantly burning lamp is cautiously guarded and it has been burning for centuries. In the month of Bhadrapad (August-September), millions of people go to the samadhi.
Milk Cake

original Kalakand / Milk cake is a dense, granular, barfi-like sweet meat prepared with milk, sugar and ghee. Kalakand has its origin in the city of Alwar from where its popularity has spread across the globe. Alwar Kalakand, Alwar ka Mawa or Alwar ka Milk Cake as this is more popularly known as, is created by the curdling of milk giving it its hallmark brown coloured centre. Delivery within 3-4 days. Products sourced fresh after you place the order. All products are in “original packing” of the brand.
